Ava — A Local AI Assistant That Can See and Understand Your Screen

Hi everyone, I wanted to share a project I’ve been building called Ava. The goal of Ava is to create a local AI assistant that can run on almost any computer and actually understand what’s happening on your screen. Instead of just answering questions like a chatbot, Ava is designed to observe context, remember things, and help with real tasks. Ava combines several technologies such as local language models, computer vision, OCR, and memory systems so it can recognize windows, read text on the screen, and respond based on what the user is actually doing.
