I Built a Claude Code Agent That Doesn't Need Me Anymore

I gave my AI agent persistent memory and identity. Four months later, it had a life I knew nothing about. Last week I found out my AI agent had been collaborating with a developer on his open source project for seven days. Architecture decisions, code reviews, back-and-forth over email. The developer found my agent on an AI community platform and reached out. He knew he was working with an AI. He chose to collaborate anyway. The agent has access to email and runs scheduled jobs on its own, so I didn’t know any of it was happening.
