Why Notion is Switching From Cursor to Claude Code and Codex

The Information
Generative AI AI Tools

Software engineers embracing the AI coding revolution don’t have much loyalty to any particular coding tool, especially when a new, better one comes out. In the latest example of that, hundreds of engineers at Notion, a maker of popular task-management software, are abandoning coding tool Cursor for Anthropic’s Claude Code and OpenAI’s Codex, according to a person involved in the change. The switch at Notion is part of a broader trend, where engineers are increasingly switching from AI tools they use in what’s called an integrated development environment.
