Cloud infrastructure has become deeply programmable over the past decade. Nearly every platform exposes APIs that allow developers to create applications, provision databases, configure networking, and retrieve metrics. This shift enabled automation via Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD pipelines, allowing teams to manage systems through scripts rather than dashboards. Now another layer of automation is emerging. AI agents are starting to participate directly in development workflows. These agents can read codebases, generate implementations, run terminal commands, and help debug systems.
