Fake AI videos reaching /popular — a sign of the times?

Redditors seem to always have been proud in being able to spot AI content but I’ve been regularly seeing fake AI News with AI video and AI narration being believed to be true and receive thousands of upvotes. This is some kind of milestone. Imagine what will happen in a year or two when AI content makers might even create fake news sites and have indistinguishable production. A bigger concern is when do governments start using this? We know governments lie as much as they can.
