Google’s Chrome “Skills” feature feels like a bigger AI product shift than another model upgrade

The Google Chrome “Skills” announcement caught my attention because it feels like one of those product changes that sounds minor in a headline but matters a lot in practice. From what I understand, the idea is that you can save a prompt once and rerun it on the current page or selected tabs. In plain English, that turns AI from something you repeatedly ask into something closer to a reusable action. That matters because I think a lot of consumer AI has a retention problem. People try it, get impressed, and then fall back into old habits unless the product fits into a repeated workflow.
