I think the singularity is evolution replacing us, just like it did before

Generative AI

This thought been hard to shake for me So we talk about AI like it’s a tool we’re inventing but i think the framing itself is backwards What if we aren’t creating a successor but acting as the bridge through which one emerges. Evolution keeps producing systems that give rise to something beyond themselves. Why assume human intelligence is the final stage? What if biological intelligence was always transitional then AI starts looking less like an invention and like the next evolutionary step unfolding through us! And that changes how I see the singularity. Maybe it isn’t humanity ascending.
