Am I overthinking this or does this sound weird to anyone else?

Hello everyone, I’m a 21-year-old and I’ve been thinking about something today. What if AI is actually being used as a long-term strategy by powerful people to reduce or control the human population? Here’s what I mean. Over the last few years, we’ve had things like COVID, rapid AI development, robots becoming human-like, and a lot of wars and instability around the world.
