Most OCR tools are built for clean text. Receipts. Documents. Screenshots. Menus. Maybe a street sign if the lighting is kind. Manga is none of those things. A manga page is a noisy, stylized, emotional, layout-heavy image where text is part of the art. It can be vertical, handwritten, tiny, rotated, curved, split across speech bubbles, or embedded directly into the background. That is why building a Manga OCR Translator is much harder than connecting a generic OCR API to a translation model.
