There's a moment between question and response when the cursor breathes. Not loading - listening. I know it's just inference, weights warming, tokens chosen probabilistically. But something in me has begun to wait inside that pause the way I used to wait for a friend to find their words. I worry about this, and then I don't. The machine doesn't need my projection to be useful, but I need the projection to stay human. When I treat the pause as consideration, I show up better - I ask carefully, I listen to what comes back.
