By every standard I understood at the time, it was doing its job. Then I started paying attention to something. I’d ask ChatGPT or Perplexity questions that were directly related to my field, questions my clients ask me all the time, and my website never came up. Competitors I knew weren’t better than me were getting mentioned. I wasn’t. That bothered me enough to figure out why.
