Claude Code and Codex need a token meter in the menu bar

Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and agentic coding tools are getting good enough that the bottleneck is not always capability anymore. Sometimes the bottleneck is not knowing what the session is burning until the limit popup or bill shows up. I keep seeing the same pattern: a tiny edit sends thousands of tokens a coding agent quietly eats a big chunk of quota a long context window turns into invisible spend the user only notices after the session is already expensive That feels wrong.
