If we already see where AI governance is going, why is everyone still standing in the wings? (Founder perspective) Disclosure: I’m the founder of an early-stage AI governance startup - so I have skin in this game. Also been thinking a lot about the musical Hair this week, which will make sense in a second. 25 new AI laws passed in 2026. Nineteen of them in the last few weeks alone. States legislating because Congress won’t move. Enterprises retrofitting governance onto systems already making real decisions about real people’s jobs, credit, healthcare, and freedom.
