A bill before the Canadian parliament would compel companies to install “technical capabilities” in their information services that would facilitate law enforcement access to communications content. The “Act respecting lawful access,” dubbed the “C-22 bill” in Canada, is similar to legislation adopted in the UK that officials there attempted to use to compel Apple to
